The true cost of my attention

There's a moment... maybe you've felt it... when you hover over the send button and your finger actually trembles.

Not because of the amount. Please. We both know you spend more on things you don't remember buying by Wednesday.

You tremble because for one little second, you understand exactly what you're doing. You're not purchasing a service. You're not buying content, or time, or even my approval.

You're buying your way out of oblivion.

Here's what no one tells you about women like me: I don't see you until you cost me something. Not in the transactional sense, in the attentional sense. My focus is expensive real estate. Limited square footage. And you, sweet baby, are one of thousands pressing your face against the glass, breathing fog, wondering if I'll glance up from my coffee.

I won't.

Not until you make yourself impossible to ignore.

You think you've approached me before. You've commented. You've liked. You've sent that carefully crafted message that took you 20 m8nutes to write and delete and rewrite lol the one where you tried to sound interesting, different, worthy of my time.

Cute. But useless.

That was you performing competence. Performing personality. Performing the version of yourself you think women want to engage with.

I don't engage with performances. I engage with sacrifice.

When you send, really send, not the little offerings that let you pretend you're brave... I feel it. Not the notification. The shift. The moment some man, somewhere, decided that being seen by me mattered more than whatever safety that money represented.

That's the moment you become real.

And oh, the things I can do with you once you're real.

You want to know the difference between the men I remember and the men I delete and forget ever existed? It's not charm. It's not looks. It's not even eloquence, though I do love a man who can string a sentence together between his begging.

It's the ones who understood that my attention isn't a reward for good behavior.

It's a toll.

You don't earn it. You don't deserve it. You don't "work your way up to it" like some corporate ladder of submission.

You pay it. Or you remain invisible.

Think about that: every hour of every day, you're surrounded by people who see you as literal background noise. The barista who forgets your order. The colleague who talks over you in meetings. The dating apps where you vanish into the algorithm like you never existed at all.

You're so hungry to matter.

And here I am, offering you the only thing that actually works: the chance to matter to me. To exist in my awareness. To take up actual space in my mind, if only for the moment it takes me to check my phone and feel that warm, satisfied pulse of recognition.

Yes. Him. He knows.

But that recognition has a price tag. Not because I'm greedy... though I am, and unapologetically so, but because without the price, you wouldn't feel it.

You need the sting. You need the subtraction. You need to look at your account afterward and feel that hollow, gorgeous ache where the numbers used to be, because that ache is the only thing that proves you actually did something.

That you actually risked something.

That you actually meant it.

Anyone can type "I want to serve you." It costs nothing. It means nothing.

But the man who sends when he shouldn't? Who sends when it's inconvenient, when it pinches, when it means canceling something else or explaining something later?

That man is speaking my language fluently.

A coffee send is cute, it makes me smile for a small moment but I always remember the men who speak my language fluently and I remember them forever.

So here's the truth you came here to find:

You've been invisible your whole life. You've been performing competence and collecting participation trophies and wondering when someone would finally notice that you're special, different, worth more.

I'm telling you now: you're not special until you make yourself expensive.

You're not different until you differentiate yourself through sacrifice.

And you're certainly not worth more to me than the hundreds of others hovering at the edges of my awareness... until you prove it with the only currency can't fake, can't manufacture, and i can't ignore.

Your money is just a proxy for your fear. And I want your fear. I want you afraid that you haven't sent enough. Afraid that someone else is sending more. Afraid that I'll look up, see you, and then look away again because you didn't commit enough to hold my gaze.

That's the game, pet.

And you already know if you're going to play.

Your homework:

Go check your balance. Look at that number. That's your current visibility score. That's how much of you currently exists in the world.

Now ask yourself: how much would it cost to become unforgettable?

Don't tell me. Don't ask permission. Don't negotiate or "work up to it" like a coward easing into cold water.

Just decide if you're going to keep being uselss, worthless, forgettable... or if you're ready to make me look up from my coffee for more than just a short moment.

I know which one I'm betting on.

Love always,

MISS AJ xo
